SD605 is an economical, water-applied, complex copolymer that contains a patented surfactant that promotes deep, long lasting penetration into soil and dust beds. The horizontal binding of soil particles produces a rigid substructure deep into the dust bed. When applied properly with water, SD605 creates a hardened surface with deep penetration of 10"-14" even in very dusty environments with light powdery dust. Surface traffic compresses the dust and the product mixture into a dense matrix that enables long-term dust control. The repetitive and frequent use of water trucks that dispense only water is expensive, time-consuming and wasteful. The use of SD605 will significantly reduce the cost of labor, water and fuel for the trucks because daily watering trips will no longer be necessary. After the first application of SD605, only occasional maintenance applications are required to maintain the optimum product levels in the dust bed. Construction dust pollution can result in fines and costly work stoppages. Why not invest in a deep penetrating, bio-degradable soil solution that's environmentally safe and designed for rapid roadbed compaction? SD 605 Dust Control is available in 2.5 gallon jugs, 250 gallon caged totes, 350 gallon caged totes, 1,000 liter caged totes and 55 gallon drums. SD605 is safe for use around people, plants, animals and fish. The cleanup of any over spray is quick and easy with plain water and it won't discolor concrete products. Technical Benefits of Dust and Erosion ControlThe problem with most dust control products, regardless of the chemistry involved, tend to form a crust on the surface either by combining the small particles for form a large composite or some merely coat the surface and some merely wet the surface. The problem with all of these, especially in fine particulate, is when equipment is driven over them cracks are formed which allows the dust below to rise to the surface. SD605 is very unique in the fact that it penetrates deep into the dust bed combining the dust particles forming a deep rigid matrix. But it no only moves horizontally, but has great vertical spread also. As equipment pass over the dust bed it will compress this long string forming a more compress matrix. We accomplish all of this by combining a number of components. One is a complex copolymer blend that in includes long chain linear and a very dense cross linked polymer. We combine this with humectants to aid in moisture retention and movement. We also add a small amount of Polyethylene glycol to aid is water movement. The thing that makes it all work is our patented and proprietary super surfactant. Once applied with water, generally by water truck, is starts to work instantly. It will dry out, but as noted at the concrete block plants, it will maintain a very good cover. To reactive merely water. And unlike spraying on a golf course, this product with water is applied in gulps. How often should water be added will depend on the dust type and weather. In some areas it might be every two-three days or longer, and in others it might be daily. Again it is hard to say. We have one block plant in Columbus Texas that has 12 acres and they run between 25-35 loaded trucks a day over the lot. If it is really dry they run once in the early morning and again late afternoon. But when the air is moist they run every other day. Their problem is like other concrete block companies, they produce a lot of very fine dust which they collect and dump on their lots. And in some cases it is done automatically. The plant in Columbus had a citation from the EPA and Texas was giving them notice that if they didn't solve the dust problem they would shut them down. The plant is located on I-10. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
